Alicia, Kendra, and I have a long running text stream. In it we share personal and professional convos. As bloggers who work on similar worlds (fashion & beauty) but have very different connections, we often run into obstacles. As bloggers of color, sometimes those obstacles seem insurmountable!
We often have to encourage each other, moving from a level of EMOTIONAL response to the level of PROFESSIONAL results. In a recent convo, Alicia reminded us that bloggers CONSTANTLY have to prove ourselves with our work.
The term 'blogger' is used to loosely oftentimes real professional bloggers can get lost in the shuffle. If you feel that way, stay consistent, show your work, do what you said you were gonna do, and don't fret. In due time, the right readers, brands, and fans will come your way!
