TBGTravel: Art Basel Miami Beach, pt. 2

Spectrum and the Red Dot tents took up most of our Saturday and the pieces in those were so amazing. I enjoyed being able to talk with the artists and learn more about not only their inspiration behind their work but about them and their journey as well. I also saw my photographer friend Wellington who I met during Swim Week back in July.

He was so nice and gave us a pass to the Art Miami tents which we went to on Sunday! Instead of taking an Uber back to the house we opted to walk through Wynwood which was filled with an abundance of spectacular street art! Saturday evening we attended the Yeelen Art Gallery event themed "What's inside her never dies...a black woman's legacy." The art and descriptions were so moving.

On Sunday, Alicia and I went over to the Art Miami tents to view more creations. Because so much was going on in the heart of Wynwood, we walked back to see the new wall and street art. Of course we popped into several pop-up galleries as well. After talking with a few locals we ended up at Brick House Miami, a beer garden with a patio and DJ. We enjoyed the music and vibes for a few hours then headed to my friend's studio for Manny Fresh's DJ set which was great!

Ah Monday, our last day. We took some cute outfit of the day photos at the house then Uber'ed over to South Beach to grab brunch at Sugar. We ate, walked around a bit, and by the time we got back to the house it was time to grab our bags and head to the airport!

All in all, attending Art Basel Miami Beach was an incredible experience. Speaking with so many talented individuals many who quit corporate jobs to fulfill their passions was so inspiring. I cannot wait to attend next year!
