It's 2016! Wow! Time sure flies when you are having fun! Salute to a new year with new experiences. We, The Blogger Girls, have a bunch of goals we are working on for 2016; personal and professional. Make sure to follow us on social media to see what goals we are working on for the first quarter. Today we are focusing on building better blogs!
Just like many people focus on being healthier, more organized, or save money, bloggers should have goals to make their sites better too. Blogging has proved to be a great way to engage the community and help writers earn more money. We know it's possible to turn blogging into a full-time job. But you can't do that without smart goals. Even if it's your first year, you need to set several goals to work on for the year.
Below, Kendra and Melissa share their goals for building better blogs. New Year, New Blog! Let's discuss.
FROM MELISSA, www.fabglance.com:
I've been blogging for YEARS! Every year I focus on a different element. Last year I focused on the social media aspect of my blog. I wanted to increase my Instagram and Facebook numbers. I was quite successful. This year, I'm taking it back to the blog. My goal is to increase traffic to my website. Here's my plan:
- Be more consistent in posting
- Add more interesting and shareable graphics.
- Better quality OOTD photos
- Publish two ebooks for my audience
FROM KayElle, www.misskayelle.com,
One of my blogging goals for the year is to know and appreciate my value as a blogger.
Though I have been blogging for 2 years, I have still let brands/companies either not pay me or underpay me for sponsored posts. This is because I did not realize the value of my work (posting on the blog, social media, even curating videos), and I was afraid that the brand would not want to pay me. However, this year I will not undervalue myself. I have come to terms that if a brand says "no" to payment that that is okay. . . . I will move on to another brand. I'll continue to curate great content so that brands will have no choice but to pay me!
Don't be afraid to dream big...results only happen when you get out of your comfort
