10 Ways You Know You Are a Fashion Blogger

Last night I was listening to a popular blogger tell the story of her rise to online stardom. If you've never heard of Karen Civil, you need to get familiar. Karen Civil has hosted brunches, emcee'd events for Hilary Clinton, and now has a book. For all intents & purposes, she's super successful! But, even Karen has her regular moments.

In her interview she talked about wanting to do an AMAZING shoot for her birthday. Her commentary made me laugh out loud - like, for real. I have a bunch of blogger besties and we ALWAYS talk about doing an cool shoots for our birthdays. The outfits, balloons, flowers, confetti, and whatever else, we can't act like all the fashion blogger girls do it. So, KayElle and I decided to come up with '10 Ways You KNOW You Are a Fashion Blogger'!

It's totally normal to stand in front of this person's house

1. You have outifts you haven't worn yet because you are waiting to shoot your Outfit of the Day (OOTD).

2. You post an OOTD picture on social media . . . while sitting on your couch wearing sweatpants and rocking your hair in a sloppy bun.

3. You still have clothes from last week's event in your back seat (because you had to bring options and get ready at work the next day).

4. Your non-blogger friends eye roll when you say "just one more pic, but I need you to hold the camera like this" even tho you've said that at least 10 times!

Let's take a photo of our shoes - because that's normal - LOL!

5. Whenever you see a brick wall you make a point to remember where it's at so you can take a photo in front of it.

6. The carts in all your favorite online stores are always filled with clothes you plan to purchase, but haven't purchased yet.

7. You can tell anyone your social media stats at the drop of a dime. Bonus points if you know how many 'likes' your last photo received on Instagram.

8. There's piles of random things on your living room floor becuase you are always photographing flatlays.

9. Everything is a prop! Old-school cell phone, random box from amazon, your little cousin's onsie, your new flat-iron . . . etc.

10. You own more electronic and photographic devices than the local news station. AND, you have your eye on that new Canon camera, that updated iphone, a newer & lighter laptop, and anything else that helps making blogging easier.

Umm, yes, BALLOONS are a MUST for this shoot!
