MOTIVATION MONDAY: Value Yourself
Good morning Blogging Babes! Y'all like that title? Well, that's what we are going with today! It's Melissa and I'm here to give you a bit of motivation! Today we are talking about VALUE. Let's take it to the dictionary:
VALUE -As a blogger, we spend days (sometimes weeks) researching a story. Back in the day, bloggers weren't held in high acclaim, now we can be the number one source for info even before someone hits the mainstream media. In 2016, I really had to assess my worth and my value. If I want to be someone who makes a living by being a creative, blogging, and being an online influencer, then I couldn't keep shooting the low shots. If I believe in myself, I need to value myself. All that changes when the 'friends' come into play.
1. estimate the monetary worth of (something).
2. consider (someone or something) to be important or beneficial; have a high opinion of.
When friends want you to, write a quick post, give your opinion, or 'help me real quick', it's time for you to start asking for some currency (or at least barter for a task). I'm not saying treat your friends like ATMs, but if you don't feel that your craft is worthy of your friends paying for your time, then what are you going to do when that big brand comes knocking at your door? You can't put the blame on another person without looking at yourself first.
Just a thought.

Motivational Monday: COLLAB
Collaborate (per Webster):
verb | col·lab·o·rate | kə-ˈla-bə-ˌrāt
*to work with another person or group in order to achieve or do something
Collaborating with People:
I believe that collaborations can be amazing whether you are a novice at a particular craft or a seasoned, more experienced person. The key is to find someone who believes in your vision just as much as you believe in theirs. Not only is that important, but so is communication. Good communication is a must when working with others because it allows those involved to be effective and work off of facts instead of assumptions…which are a waste of time and energy. When seeking to collab with others be yourself. Sometimes it can be scary to approach a person (or even a brand) that you want to work with, but just remember the worst thing that can happen is that they say “no” – which is really not THAT bad when you think about it!

#BLOGGERLIFE: New Year, New Blog?
It's 2016! Wow! Time sure flies when you are having fun! Salute to a new year with new experiences. We, The Blogger Girls, have a bunch of goals we are working on for 2016; personal and professional. Make sure to follow us on social media to see what goals we are working on for the first quarter. Today we are focusing on building better blogs!
Just like many people focus on being healthier, more organized, or save money, bloggers should have goals to make their sites better too. Blogging has proved to be a great way to engage the community and help writers earn more money. We know it's possible to turn blogging into a full-time job. But you can't do that without smart goals. Even if it's your first year, you need to set several goals to work on for the year.
Below, Kendra and Melissa share their goals for building better blogs. New Year, New Blog! Let's discuss.
